According to UBI Research’s “2Q26 AMOLED Emitting Material Market Tracker,” the forecast for global OLED panel makers’ emitting material purchases in 2026 has been revised downward from USD 2.91 billion in 1Q 2026 to USD 2.54 billion, a decrease of USD 370 million, or 12.8%.

The main reason for this forecast revision is the decline in OLED panel shipments caused by weaker smartphone sales resulting from rising memory prices.

OLED emitting materials are essential consumable materials directly linked to panel production volume and fab utilization rates. Therefore, when OLED panel shipments decline, panel makers’ purchasing volume of emitting materials also decreases.

UBI Research forecasts that emitting material purchases by all major OLED panel makers will generally decline. In particular, Chinese panel makers are expected to see a sharper decrease in emitting material purchases than Korean panel makers, as they are more heavily affected by the decline in smartphone OLED shipments.

Korean panel makers mainly produce panels for high-value-added products such as premium smartphones, IT OLED, and OLED TVs. As a result, the impact of reduced panel production caused by rising semiconductor prices is expected to be relatively limited, and their emitting material purchases are also expected to remain comparatively stable.

An official from UBI Research stated, “Rising memory prices are a key variable affecting the cost structure and sales strategies of set products,” adding, “In 2026, the OLED emitting material market will show different trends by panel maker, depending on OLED panel and set product lineups.”
