According to UBI Research’s recently published “3Q26 Quarterly Display Market Tracker,” revenue from the mid- to large-sized OLED market is forecast to increase from US$10.01 billion in 2026 to US$15.15 billion in 2030, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.9%.

The key applications driving this growth are monitors and automotive displays. OLED monitor revenue is projected to more than triple from US$1.52 billion in 2026 to US$4.69 billion in 2030, growing at a CAGR of 32.5%. By 2030, monitor OLED revenue is expected to surpass TV OLED revenue of US$4.35 billion, making monitors the largest application in the mid- to large-sized OLED market. Automotive OLED revenue is also forecast to grow from US$660 million to US$1.38 billion, representing a CAGR of 20.3%. In contrast, TV OLED revenue is expected to decline slightly from US$4.48 billion to US$4.35 billion, indicating that the growth axis of the mid- to large-sized OLED market is shifting from TVs toward IT and automotive applications.

Among panel makers, Samsung Display is expected to show particularly strong growth. Compared with 2026, Samsung Display’s mid- to large-sized OLED revenue is forecast to increase by 68% by 2030, roughly twice the 34% growth expected for LG Display over the same period. Samsung Display’s monitor OLED revenue is projected to rise from US$1.20 billion to US$3.12 billion, automotive OLED revenue from US$320 million to US$770 million, and notebook OLED revenue from US$1.35 billion to US$2.08 billion, indicating broad-based growth across IT and automotive display applications.

Recent moves by panel makers also reflect this market transition. Following the mass production of 360Hz QD-OLED monitor panels in 2026, Samsung Display developed a 4K 360Hz QD-OLED and began full-scale supply of tandem OLED panels for notebooks in July. LG Display is also expanding its presence in the monitor market, having started mass production of 240Hz RGB-stripe OLED monitor panels in May.

Because TV applications account for more than 60% of LG Display’s mid- to large-sized OLED revenue, the company’s future growth rate is expected to remain relatively dependent on whether the TV OLED market recovers. Samsung Display, in contrast, is expected to continue expanding revenue from growth applications such as monitors, notebooks, and automotive displays. As a result, the revenue gap between the two companies in the mid- to large-sized OLED market is forecast to narrow significantly from US$970 million in 2026 to approximately US$130 million in 2030.

Chinese panel makers are also expanding rapidly. BOE’s mid- to large-sized OLED revenue is projected to rise 84%, from US$210 million in 2026 to US$380 million in 2030, while Everdisplay’s revenue is forecast to increase 75%, from US$470 million to US$830 million. In particular, following BOE’s launch of mass production and customer shipments from its Chengdu B16 Gen 8.6 AMOLED line in June, Chinese panel makers are accelerating their entry into the IT OLED market, including notebooks and tablets.

UBI Research commented, “The growth drivers of the mid- to large-sized OLED market are becoming increasingly diversified, shifting from TVs toward monitors, notebooks, and automotive applications. In particular, the expansion of Gen 8.6 OLED mass production and the rapid growth of the OLED monitor market are expected to become key factors determining the future market positions of individual panel makers.”
