CEO
Choong Hoon YI
Choong Hoon Yi is the founder and Chief Analyst of UBI Research. Before establishing UBI Research, he worked as a researcher at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) and was responsible for the development of LCD and OLED displays at the Central Research Center of Samsung SDI.

Vice President
Chang Wook Han
Chang Wook Han is a renowned expert in the display field with over 35 years of experience. He serves as a principal analyst in charge of the entire research team at UBI Research. He provides industry-leading insights accumulated through years of experience and a global network. His areas of interest include the market, technology, and industry dynamics of OLED products, OLED materials, and automotive displays.
Prior to joining UBI Research, he served as a vice president and head of OLED device development at LG Display, where he led the development of OLED, EL-QD, and other devices. He also served as a team leader for LCD development and OLED TV device development at LG Display, gaining experience in mass production of products. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University in Seoul, South Korea. He is currently an adjunct professor in the Department of Chemistry at Korea University, teaching display subjects.

Executive Director
Jiun Yi
Jiun Yi, Executive Director, is responsible for sales, global customer communications, and significant event planning at UBI Research. She contributes to the company’s growth and brand value enhancement by formulating and executing strategies to respond to the global market and improve customer satisfaction. She also plans and manages major industry events.

Senior Analyst
Nam Deog Kim
Nam Deog Kim has over 30 years extensive display R&D and project management experiences including more than 10 years of work experience at the Chinese companies. Currently he serves as the senior research analyst of the research team at UBI Research. At UBI research his areas of interest include the market, technology, and industry dynamics of Micro-LED display products as well as AR/VR products.
Prior to joining UI Research, he served as a vice president of LCD Research Center as well as the development center of LCD Business at Samsung Electronics from 2006 to 2011, where he led not only the development of advanced LCD products, but also the development of OLED technologies including white OLED and inkjet printed OLED.
From 2012 to 2022, he served as project directors of the Chinese companies such as Konka, Shenzhen CSOT (China Star Optoelectronics Technology Co.), and Hisense, gaining a lot of research abilities for developing advanced display products in China.
He received his Ph.D in the department of Electrical Engineering of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.

Senior Analyst
Joohan Kim
Dr. Joohan Kim is an expert in flat panel displays. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in EECS from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA in 1994 and 2000, respectively. His research was focused on high-mobility TFTs and low-resistivity metal processes for AMLCD and AMOLED during his Ph.D. and Research Fellow period until 2003. Since joining Samsung Display in 2003, he has worked on yield enhancement for large area TVs and received Best Achievement gold prize on UHD TV Yield Enhancement in 2013, and Productivity Innovation in 2014. He joined TV development team, Samsung Electronics in 2016. He has developed fabrication processes and inspection methods for micro-LED displays until 2023. The state-of-the-art micro-LED TV was developed and 89-inch and 101-inch TVs were launched in 2023.
He currently is a senior analyst mainly working on micro-LED area at UBI Research.

Senior Analyst
Changho Noh
Dr. Changho Noh is an expert in organic electronic materials and display technologies, with over 34 years of experience in research and development. Since joining the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology in February 1988, he has significantly contributed to photo-functional materials for semiconductors and display technologies, including OLED and liquid crystal materials. His work has generated numerous patents and academic publications, with over 1,500 citations and an h-index above 20. Noh holds a bachelor’s (1986) and master’s degree (1988) in industrial chemistry from Seoul National University, and he earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from KAIST in 2005. Currently, he serves as the Research Director at UBI Research, where he publishes reports on OLED materials and OLEDoS, while also conducting technical consulting in display technologies.

Analyst
Junho Kim
Junho Kim is a research analyst at UBI Research, specializing in market data analysis and supply chain research across the OLED industry. His responsibilities include analyzing production line operations, panel shipment volumes, average selling prices (ASP), and revenue performance of panel makers. Based on these analyses, he develops comprehensive roadmaps and market forecasts by company and product segment.
His research covers both historical performance and multi-year market outlooks, supporting a wide range of strategic decisions in the display industry. He has been a key contributor to UBI Research’s flagship publications, including the OLED Display Report, OLED Market Track, OLED Emitting Material Report, China Trend Report, and OLED reports for IT and automotive applications.

Assistant Manager
Jaehyun Jeon
Jaehyun Jeon, Assistant Manager at UBI Research, is responsible for public relations and marketing. In addition to promoting research reports and findings, he also manages the preparation and operation of domestic seminars and international conferences.

Senior Analyst
Tetsuo Urabe
After completing a master’s degree in science at Tohoku University in 1974, he joined Sony Corporation and engaged in the commercialization of display development. In 2007, as Head of the Display Device Development Division, he successfully commercialized the world’s first OLED television. In 2008, he was appointed Executive Officer. After retiring in June 2011, he served as Senior Advisor at Sony. From 2014 to 2019, he served as Advisor and Executive Director at JAPERA (Japan Printed Electronics Research Association). In 2019, he joined UBI Research as Senior Analyst, where he remains today. His current focus is on Micro LED technology as a micro-display solution that will shape the future evolution of XR.
