According to the'August 2020 OLED emitting material patent analysis report' recently published by UBI Research, out of 499 patents published (including during disclosure, registration and deliberation) in August 2020, LG Chem has the largest number of patents at 96. It was analyzed that the number of patents was recorded.

LG Chem was selected as the company that published and registered the most patents related to emitting materials from 2017 to 2019 in the '2020 OLED Emitting Materials Report' published in May by UBI Research. LG Chem is currently supplying ETL materials to Samsung Display, and supplying LG Display with a number of common and light emitting materials for mobile and TV.

Among the light emitting material companies, UDC and Merck followed by 32 and 27 respectively, and among panel makers, Samsung Display recorded the highest number of patents with 47.

By country, Korea took 252 cases, accounting for 50% of the total, China ranked second with 95 cases, and Japan ranked third with 62 cases.

By purpose, 296 patents related to EML accounted for 59% of the total, and by luminescence color, blue accounted for 115 cases, recording the largest number of patents.
